KIMBERLEY ASHER |
|
|
Kimberley has spent most of her life in the
horse business. At four years old, Kimberley
had her first riding lesson under the
supervision of her grandmother. From then on
she followed the footsteps of generations of
riders who had ridden for enjoyment and in
competition.
At thirteen, she kept
her horse at Sag Pond Farm in Bridgehampton,
Long Island New York. As a junior rider, she
worked there as a trainer and as an
assistant barn manager under the direction
of Patrick Rice.
She also
volunteered in the local therapeutic riding
program.
While attending
Randolph Macon Women's College in Virginia
she trained with J.T. Tallon while competing
intercollegiately on the IHSA Team.
Kimberley has
competed on the A circuit in Hunter, Jumper
and Equitation. During her final semester at
Morrisville State College, she was hired as
an adjunct professor. She also rode on the
intercollegiate team prior to graduating in
2002 with a B.T. in Equine studies.
Since Canterbury
opened for business in August 2002, she has developed a strong lesson
program for riders of all ages and levels.
She has also collected and trained an
outstanding group of lesson horses and
ponies for client use. Now she will continue
to use these talents to train horses for
sale. |

NANCY
AND JIM ASHER |
|
|
When
Kimberley came home from college and
announced that she wanted to have her own
horse farm, her parents agreed to support
her dream with any talents they possessed.
Nancy and Kimberley designed the barn, supervised
the construction, purchased the first lesson
horses. While Kimberley focuses on the clients and
the lesson program as well as horse care and
training, Nancy hires the staff, handles the
supplies, and establishes the back of the
house routines. Jim who has another full
time job finds the time to do all the
government paperwork, to be part of the
cheering section at shows and to be the
weekend breakfast chef for the staff. |

PROFESSIONAL STAFF |
|
|
The
consistent daily care of the horses and the
maintenance of the facility and equipment
would not be possible without the four
professional full time staff members, who
are always ready to help.
People and animals
both benefit from their hard work. They also
welcome the part time student employees.
Dave B., Dave S., Manuel and Javier round out the
Canterbury team. |
